The History of the
Jewellers and Watchmakers of New Zealand Inc.
The Jewellers & Watchmakers of New Zealand Inc. (JWNZ) was formed in 1983, from an amalgamation of the Jewellers Association of New Zealand Inc, formed 1944, and the New Zealand Horological Institute, formed 1936, and renamed the Watchmakers Institute of New Zealand Inc. in 1983.
The essential purpose of the Jewellers & Watchmakers of New Zealand Inc. is to promote and to foster those persons and businesses involved in the Jewellery industry in New Zealand.

These specialist bodies are involved in activities such as Industry Training, Trades Standards, Technical Training and Jewellery Appraising.
